Greetings! My name is Mike Peterson and I run Sundog Sports Club (filed with the State of North Dakota as Sundog Media and Entertainment sole propietership/DBA; all events are fully insured by State Farm). I established Sundog Sports Club in Winter 2017 in order to provide sports in the community that are not otherwise offered as well as provide a vehicle to celebrate community and each other. I’m a lifelong Grand Forks resident, a graduate of Red River H.S. (2003) and Mayville State University (2008) with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management.
Our mission is to be much more than an ordinary sports league. For example, we offer a number of ways for player engagement such as various awards, voting on particular games, statistics, photography and video. While the competition can get pretty intense from time to time, we try not to take ourselves too seriously; this league is more about the comradery and the people who make the league than game results and statistics. It is not an uncommon site to see players from opposing teams joking and laughing with each other in-game.
We are in the process of firmly establishing our presence in the Grand Forks area. In March, we were featured on WDAY and that footage can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/sundogyoutube. Both our successful 2018 and 2019 Winter Leagues saw about 100 individuals divided over 8 teams. We want to continue our league into this summer and teams are already booked.
We are seeking sponsors who’d like to be a part of this journey with us, and sustain our mission to celebrate community and comradery. With your help, we can upgrade the equipment we already have. I would also like to expand to other audiences, such as kids and individuals with disabilities.
We offer three tiers of sponsorship– 1st Down ($150), Field Goal ($350) and Touchdown ($550). With 1st Down, we put your name on all our t-shirts, be a part of our organic and paid social media shout-outs, provide a link on our website. Our Field Goal package includes the name of your company on a large banner displayed at events, logo on all t-shirts, as well as social media and website links. The touchdown package offers your logo on the banner, t-shirts, social media posts, website links, and your choice of handouts at events—this could be coupons, discounts, whatever you may choose.
Your help would go a long way towards sustaining the league but also help in purchasing equipment. Currently we are seeking two digital tabletop scoreboards ($431.93 as listed by Wal-Mart for a total price of $863.86) and 5 sets of Flag-a-Tag Sonic Boom flag belts ($44.99 each with a total price of $224.95).
